TAKING CARE OF YOUR ART

It pays to take good care of your framed art print or canvas. Following the suggestions below can help ensure that the purchase you have made lasts for years.

THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN YOUR ART

Firstly if possible its best to remove the art from the wall and place it face up on a flat surface. Cover the surface with a blanket, or place the art on a carpeted floor.

CLEANING THE FRAME

The safest and simplest way to clean the frame is with a soft dry cloth such as a duster. Do not use any chemicals as there is normally no need and cleaning chemicals could have an effect on the frame.

CLEANING THE GLASS

Glass can be cleaned in the same way as the frame. You can if you like use glass cleaner but apply this to the cloth rather than spray the cleaner onto the glass. This will prevent the fluid seeping under the frame or glass.

CLEANING THE PERSPEX

You need to be careful when cleaning perspex as it scratches if done incorrectly. Use a soft cloth and wipe the surface gently. If required you can use a damp cloth or special persepx cleaner. But again apply the cleaner to the cloth not the surface oy your framed art print.

THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN YOUR CANVAS ART

Dust can build up on your canvas art just like any other piece of furniture. Regular dusting with a feather duster can prevent this build up. If you need to give it a more thorough clean then only use a soft dry cloth and gently wipe the surface.
