HANGING YOUR ART THE RIGHT WAY

It doesn't matter whether it's a large centerpiece or a small photograph it's worth doing a bit of planning to make sure it looks right. So we have made some useful suggestions below.

PREPARATION

Firstly make sure you have all the necessary tools. You will need a screwdriver, hammer, nails, screws, raw-plugs, pencil, spirit level, tape measure and a drill (with the correct drill bit for the size raw-plug).

WHERE IS YOUR ART GOING TO HANG

All too often art is hung either to low or too high. It's an easy mistake to make but as a general guide you are looking to position your art so that the center of the painting is at eye level. This is the way art is displayed in galleries and museums as artwork is best viewed at eye level.

Remember to this about the shape and size in proportion to the space where you are intending to hang your art. If it's too cramped for the space then it will not be the centerpiece you are trying to create.

READY TO HANG YOUR ART

Having worked out where your art is going, having all of the necessary tools to hand you are ready to install your latest Artwork4all purchase.

Firstly you will need to measure the wall space to best center your artwork. Once you have this measurement mark a small dot on the wall with your pencil. Now to make sure that your art will hang at the correct eye level just hold it on the wall at the correct height, measure down from the ceiling to the top of the frame or canvas (make a note of this measurement). Now measure the distance from the fixings, string or strap to the top of the frame. Add this measurement to the measurement from the ceiling to the top of the frame. Now measure down from the ceiling this distance make a small dot with you pencil which should be above or below your center dot. All you now have to do is hammer in your nail, or drill a hole fit a raw-plug and screw and your artwork is ready to be hung.
